Energy Justice Summer

Energy Justice Summer

What is EJS?
Accountable Community Work - Our political processes systematically disenfranchise many of the people who are most directly affected by the decisions made therein. Energy Justice Summer's community outreach projects are designed to empower and amplify the voices of those individuals who are directly affected by dirty energy industries.

>>>Power Vote>>>

Power Vote is a non-partisan campaign of the Energy Action Coalition that will build youth power and demand bold solutions to global warming during the election season and beyond. We will be harnessing the diversity and creativity of our movement to demand that a just and sustainable transition away from fossil fuels is not only on the agenda in the upcoming elections, but is a top priority for our new President, Congress, state legislatures, city councils, business leaders and beyond!

We will build a youth voting bloc 1 million strong to elevate the issue of climate change, hold our elected representatives accountable, and we will continue working together on our campuses and in our communities to usher in a clean and just energy revolution.

Work for the Southern Energy Network

Join the Southern Energy Network, a project of the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, fighting global warming and supporting student and youth climate and energy work in the Southeast. We're a founding member of the Energy Action Coalition and are running the coalition's Campus Climate Challenge campaign here in the South.

Conferences and Trainings

The conferences and Trainings committee works to organize all of Southern Energy Networks conferences (like the SSREC) and trainings (SPROG, Mountain Justice Summer).  The committee may also assist in the development of state-summits.

Fundraising

The fundraising committee is responsible for planning and implementing fundraising plans for the Southern Energy Network. Activities might include organizing fundraising events (house parties, art gatherings, facebook challenges), strategic fundraising planning, grant research and writing, as well as phonebanking to supporting members.

SEN Steering Committee

The steering committee members support the Mission and Vision of the Southern Energy Network and are committed to working towards achieving the organization’s goals.  The Steering Committee sets long-term goals, helps plan, and monitors the progress of the organization in achieving its shared mission.  The Steering Committee also directs the operations of all staff.
