Methane Capture/ Digestion

Methane digestion, or methane capture, is a technology that captures methane from waste-water treatment plants and/ or landfills to produce electricity. Although this technology is not the best, it is useful in turning a more potent greenhouse gas, methane, into a less potent greenhouse gas, carbon dioxide.

Methane gas is used similarly to propane gas in the electricity generation/ combustion process. Several utilities use methane capture to combine with their coal-burning facilities, in turn reducing the amount of coal extracted and used.

Again, this technology is not the best. but is much better than fossil-fuel resources.
