Center for Health Environment & Justice (CHEJ): www.chej.org
The Center for Health, Environment and Justice (CHEJ) is the only national environmental organization that was founded and is led by a grassroots leader. Lois Gibbs founded CHEJ after winning the nation’s first community relocation of 900 families due to a leaking toxic waste dump in Love Canal, New York. Through this effort she also woke up the nation to recognize the link between people’s exposures to dangerous chemicals in the community setting and serious public health impacts.

Southeast Rebuild Collaborative
Southeast Rebuild Collaborative (SRC) is a joint effort of the state
energy offices of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, and South
Carolina. This collaboration promotes energy efficiency to individuals,
school districts, state and local governments, colleges and
universities, vendors, trade organizations, and other allies in the
member states with the goal of motivating institutions to save energy
and reduce the emissions of greenhouse gases.
Taylor Residents United for the Earth (TRUE) Perry, FL: Yahoo Group
SEN and TRUE have worked together on New Coal issues around the now defeated JEA and co.'s Taylor Energy Center, culminating in an Energy Justice Summer Program around those issues. TRUE has been fighting a Buckeye (formerly Proctor & Gamble) Paper Mill that has been devistating that community for decades. Joy Ezell from TRUE was on the keynote pannel at the 4th SSREC and has also been involved in Florda Student Summits.

PBEC has been working on a wide range of environmental issues facing South Florida and the Everglades over the past few years. The group has put out a zine on Everglades history: Everything Everglades.
Carolina Peace Resource Center (CPRC) Columbia, SC: www.carolinapeace.org
SEN and CPRC are currently working together to support energy justice summer listening projects in Jenkinsville, SC where two utilities: South Carolina Electric & Gas and Santee Cooper, own and operate a one reactor nuclear generating facility and want to build two more reactors.
SOCM is a non-profit, grassroots organization working in Tennessee for social, environmental and economic justice in areas such as sustainable forestry, clear cutting, strip mining, mountain top removal, abandoned mine lands (AML), toxic issues, aerial spraying, tax reform, voter rights and thedismantling of racism. Members also work on many other issues at the local level.
United Mountain Defense (UMD) is a nonprofit organization committed to halting mountaintop removal coal mining (otherwise referred to as cross ridge or contour mining) in Tennessee. UMD conducts activities in three principle areas: legal and policy advocacy; scientific monitoring and data collection; and public education, outreach and grassroots organizing. These activities are conducted within the state of Tennessee, primarily in Campbell, Claiborne, Scott, Fentress, Bledsoe, Knox and Blount counties.
Tennessee Interfaith Power and Light
Tennessee Interfaith Power & Light (TIP&L) seeks to involve congregations of faith as Stewards of God's Creation by promoting energy conservation, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and related sustainable life practices.
