Sierra Student Coalition: Building Environmental Campus Community (BECC) Fellowships
BECC organizers will work with existing environmental groups, or start a new group, to conduct a hard-hitting campaign for clean energy on campus. Positions are intended for college students and will require a commitment of 10-15 hours per week during the semester, with the possibility of extension. A limited number of $1,500 scholarships are available for exceptional applicants. Additional funds to support campus outreach and campaign events will also be available for all organizers.

Young People For: Front Line Leaders Academy (FLLA)
A campaign leadership development program offered every year to 20 talented young people from across the country. FLLA provides prospective candidates and campaign leaders the ability to learn from successful political campaign professionals. Deadline April 11.

Drum Major Institute Scholars
DMI Scholars identifies progressive college students from diverse communities and trains them in the skills necessary to obtain and succeed in entry-level public policy positions. DMI Scholars is a "Public Policy 101" for young people who want to shape the direction of our country. DMI Scholars are college sophomores and juniors.

Women for Sustainable Development Leadership Institute
NWF's Women for Sustainable Development (WSD) leadership institute is designed to offer career building skills and educational opportunities to participants, and the opportunity to use these skills to build awareness about international sustainable development issues on their campuses and in their communities. WSD is open to women students seeking an undergraduate degree. Award: Participants selected for WSD will attend a three-day leadership training in Washington, D.C.

Coal River Mountain and Sludge Safety Project
We are two non-profit 501(c)3 seeking Volunteers and providing Internships. Through on the ground research and community partnerships, challenges to the destructive mining practices have been established. The work will facilitate an understanding of community health issues to impacted residence and establish independent research that is crucial to a solid base of knowledge for future actions (challenging mine permits and place a check on existing or current illegal mining).

Organizers for CLEAN Call to Action
Four organizers will be hired to work out of a nonprofit organization in a coalfield state or a state clean power campaign to organize the grassroots led CLEAN campaign and its efforts in the region as part of a growing national collaboration. The candidate will be embedded in an organization working on similar issues and be responsible to a national coordinating committee and report to the Executive Director of the host organization. In addition s/he will work with a team of four or five similar organizers in other states.

Brower Youth Awards The Brower Youth Awards just launched the 2008 prize search for outstanding youth leaders. We're looking for individuals ages 13-22 with the power and persistence to create environmental change. The Brower Youth Awards honors six young people annually with a $3000 cash award and weeklong trip to the San Francisco Bay Area. During that week, award recipients will participate in a week of media and public outreach and be recognized at an awards ceremony attended by 900 members of the public. Past winners have protected Native sacred sites from development, restored wetlands, spread awareness about threatened sea turtles, coordinated student networks pushing for a clean energy future, and more. Wild Gift Grants
The Wild Gift provides grants to leaders who wish to embark on a self-designed year long project to protect nature or promote sustainability. The program is open to young leaders aged 21 to 30. The Wild Gift program consists of four parts: mentoring to help refine leader-designed projects, a 20-day wilderness trek, a year's support to ensure the project's success, and a seven-day trek after one year. Award: $10,000 to $15,000
