Tell the media young people means business on climate change

Yesterday, The Washington Post published an article, "Young Americans less interested in the environment than previous generations". Below is my response to the editor of The Washington Post. I encourage you to do the same! Tell the media that young people are the ones fighting for the environment. Write a letter to the editor telling them what you and your campus are doing.

Updates in the Mississippi Youth Climate Movement

Call me a radical, but I'm voting!

I came to the United States from Nicaragua when I was 12 years old. One of my first memories was seeing snow for the first time, but also attending a rally against racism that my mom helped organized. Fast-forward to the year 2011, I was a junior in college interning for Southern Energy Network and found myself in yet another rally—Coal Ash is Scary. Since then, I have helped organize our state network, collect petitions, write letters to editor, write letters to elected officials, call elected officials, organized a rally, and even lobbied in DC during Power Shift 2011.
